Hit me
baby one more time…the snooze button that is. Can you relate to that? We have so much to do and so many to do for.
With work and our home lives, it is almost impossible to get everything done in
one day. What happens is that we put off giving our bodies what they need so
that we can complete our tasks. We skip meals or eat fast food on the run or
simply replace meals by turning coffee or sodas into a meal replacement. Now the
stressors have begun and so has the neglecting of our bodies. The most common
mistakes that we make is that we will forfeit sleep in order to get things done
and see the kids off to where they need to be. The best advice I can give you is to STOP and GET
SOME REST! Studies by the University of
Chicago Medical Center have shown that a lack of sleep reduces the capacity to
perform basic metabolic functions such as processing and storing carbohydrates
or regulating hormone secretion. Studies
have also shown that sleep deprivation also effects brain function and
behavior. So in essence a lack of sleep
will shut down your body. So go to bed!
Get some rest. Your body will thank you for it!
