Blog Day 220 Tuesday July 10, 2012
“Get up
and eat!”
Day 220)
For years we have been told that
breakfast is the most important meal of the day. There is some truth to that.
Two thirds of American adults and adolescents are overweight or obese. Studies
have shown that skipping meals is a contributing factor to weight gain.
According to these studies people who skip meals especially breakfast tend to
consume more food throughout the day than those who eat a well balanced
breakfast. The percentage of people who skip breakfast increased from 14 to 25
% from 1965 to 1991. A lack of time is a major contributor to meal skipping.
Here is a hint that might help you start the day with a well balanced
breakfast. Prepare your breakfast the
night before, refrigerate it and have it in the morning. If you find it a
struggle, I suggest packing it and have it at work. By doing this you will also
avoid the pitfalls of a fast food breakfast. Make it a priority in the morning.
So go for it! Enjoy your and sweets, in moderation of course.
