For most of us summer time is a wonderful time of the year but, it can also be a huge source of stress and can also rake havoc on your health.  Often times we fail to recognize the symptoms of negative stress and the toll that it takes on our bodies. Negative stress has many symptoms. Some emotional, some behavioral, some physical and some cognitive. Everything from over eating increased alcohol consumption or cigarette smoking. Lack of concentration, worry and anxiety and physical symptoms such as chest pain and rapid heartbeat, nausea, diarrhea or constipation even unexplained aches and pains. These are just some of the effects of negative stress. Here is a tip to help you through this stressful time.  “Get Carried Away!”  Make it a point to relax during this time. Instead of going out to eat order in. Go get a massage or a mani-pedi. Take a long hot bath. Just be kind to your body but more importantly listen to it when it tells you it is stressed. It will tell you what it needs. So get carried away and enjoy your summer.
